MY QUALIFICATIONS
Below is a list of my qualifications that have equipped me with the knowledge and experience to support even the most challenging infant feeding issues. I am committed to keeping my knowledge current by maintaining my IBCLC status every five years and attending lectures for ongoing professional development. IBCLC
December 2020 – International Board certified lactation consultant, awarding body – IBLCE
This qualification allows me to practice as a lactation consultant anywhere in the world and is the highest qualification available in infant feeding. There are significant educational and experience requirements to be eligeable to take this exam. You can read more about the requirements and remmit of an IBCLC below.
MS, BFC
June 2018 – Mother Supporter, January 2020 – Breastfeeding Counsellor, awarding Body – ABM (https://abm.me.uk)
After having my son I trained with ABM and qualified as a mother supporter and then later as a Breast Feeding Counsellor. I also attend regular training updates and their annual conference.
LC, CBS
April 2020, awarding body – Lactation Education Resources
Awarded for 90 hours of lactation specific education, qualifiying me as a lactation consultant and certified breastfeeding specialist. In April 2019 I also completed the short courses required which included:
Documentation for the lactation consultant.
Medical terminology.
Occupational safety and security.
Ethical considerations for the lactation consultant.
Universal precautions and infection control.

A weekend learning about baby loss, and pregnancy after loss from a parents perspective.
Doula Certification

Whilst I don’t support births, it was important to me to know much more about it. This course was invaluable to my practice.
